Abstract

The issuance of the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Number 262/M/2022 concerning Guidelines for the implementation of learning programs in the context of learning recovery. Starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, many schools have implemented the Independent Learning Curriculum into their learning. One of the materials in High School PAI Learning is about Competition in Goodness. Understanding the material on competing in goodness is an important element in education, because it helps students develop positive morals and behavior. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Using primary data obtained through interviews with the Deputy Head of Curriculum, PAI Teachers and Students of SMAN 2 Pare. Then for the secondary data obtained from the analysis of observation results, documents. The results of the study showed that Students' Understanding of the Concept of Competition in Goodness in the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 2 Pare showed a proper understanding of this concept, the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum in PAI learning at SMAN 2 PARE went well. This is indicated by the Student-centered Learning Approach, namely the use of various interesting and varied learning methods, such as visual videos. The dynamics of the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Study of students' understanding of Competition in goodness) in Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMAN 2 PARE is carried out using memorization, drill and practice and sorogan methods to help students memorize and understand the verses of the Qur'an. Factors Influencing the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Study of students' understanding of Competition in goodness) in Islamic Religious Education Learning at SMAN 2 Pare, namely the inhibiting factor is the lack of Al-Qur'an reading skills in some students. While the Supporting Factor is that SMAN 2 Pare has an Al-Qur'an tahfidz extracurricular that can help students improve their ability to read and memorize the Qur'an. Islamic Religious Education teachers at SMAN 2 Pare also encourage students who are already proficient in reading the Qur'an to help their friends who are not yet proficient.
